BatteryMAX Installation:
MOUNT THE POWER MODULATOR
BOX |
|
LOCATE AN
AREA ON THE SIDE OF THE BATTERY
MAKE SURE IT IS AN AREA PROTECTED FROM MOVING ENGINE PARTS OR
DISTURBANCE BY MECHANICS, ETC.CLEAN THE MOUNTING AREA
WELL, USE ALCOHOL |
 |
REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE TAPE
FROM THE BACK OF THE UNIT AND ATTACH, BY PRESSING FIRMLY
YOU CAN ALSO USE HOT GLUE OR OTHER ADHESIVES |
|
|
|
CONNECTING THE
WIRES
AFTER MOUNTING THE BOX, CONNECT THE UNIT. MAKE SURE
THE RED WIRE IS CONNECTED TO THE POSITIVE (+) BATTERY POST OR TERMINAL AND
THE BLACK WIRE IS CONNECTED TO THE NEGATIVE(-) BATTERY POST OR TERMINAL.
1. REMOVE THE NUT SECURING THE BATTERY CABLE CLAMP TO THE POSITIVE (+)
BATTERY POST OR TERMINAL.
2. PLACE THE CONNECTOR AT THE END OF THE POSITIVE(+) RED BATTERYMAX LEAD ON
THE CABLE CLAMP BOLT.
3. REINSTALL THE NUT ON THE CABLE CLAMP BOLT AND THE BATTERY CABLE CLAMP TO
THE POSITIVE(+) BATTERY POST OR TERMINAL.
WHEN THE RED LIGHT IS FLASHING THE BATTERYMAX IS WORKING!
You can check the operation of the unit with a millimeter, at your option.
You will notice that the amperage reading moves indicating the pulsed DC
current be regenerated into the battery plates, resulting in the elimination
of sulfating.
Batteries are not 100% efficient - some energy is lost to heat and chemical
reactions when charging and discharging. If you use 1000 watts from a
battery, it might take 1200 watts or more to fully recharge it Slower
charging and discharging rates are more efficient. A battery rated at 180
amp-hours over 6 hours might be rated at 220 AH at the 20-hour rate, 260 AH
at the 48-hour rate.
Typical efficiency in a lead-acid battery is 85-95% in alkaline and NiCad
battery it is about 65%.
There are three basic ways to use BatteryMAX:
l. On a single battery, (see other side for example) Models 12 volt, 24
volt, 36 volt, 48 volt.
2. In SERIES: adding one battery to another by connecting the poles
negative to positive and positive to negative etc.
3. In PARALLEL, adding one or more with their poles negative to
negative and positive to positive etc.
Example: two 12 volt in parallel 12 volt.
Rules: Do not add more voltage to the BatteryMax than the model is rated
for, and do not exceed 48 volts total (sum).
